“A Proud Past, A Bright Future.”

Welcome to Solomontown Primary School

A very warm welcome to Solomontown Primary School

We are a proud public school in the heart of Port Pirie that prides itself on being an inclusive and caring environment for students and families. Our school values of respect, responsibility, confidence and persistence, underpin the supportive learning environment we develop.

The leadership team consists of Wellbeing Coordinator – Zherie Bouwman, Deputy Prinicapal – Pep Arbon and Principal – Kelly Heading. Alongside the dedicated staff, the three of us are here to help welcome and support students and families.

At Solomontown PS, we have a structured daily focus on English and Maths, using evidence-based approaches. Our specialist teachers provide curriculum instruction in HPE, Music and Auslan. We have two  dedicated special options classes, one junior primary and one primary, where students participate in highly individualised learning programs.

Student leadership is encouraged through our Student Action Team (SAT) who meet regularly under the guidance of our wellbeing coordinator and have recently introduce lunchtime activities.

Student wellbeing is an important priority at Solomontown. Our Wellbeing Coordinator, Aboriginal Education team and Pastoral Support Worker are a strong team who work together to provide support and activities to ensure the wellbeing of our students.

We also have a very active Breakfast Club, supported by dedicated parent volunteers.

I encourage families to contact the school, arrange a tour and discuss how we can support your child/ren.

Kind regards, Kelly Heading – Principal
