Governing Council

The Governing Council of a school is jointly responsible with the principal for governance related matters.

This includes:

  • Strategic planning
  • Determining policies and instructions
  • Determining the application of the total financial resources
  • Presenting operational plans and reports on its operations to the school community and the Minister
  • Must comply with their constitution, administrative instructions issued by the Minister or the Chief Executive, the Education and Children’s Services Act 2019 and any other relevant State or Commonwealth legislation.

The Governing Council is made up with:

  • Chairperson
  • Vice Chairperson
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Principal
  • School Staff member
  • Community Person
  • 7 Committee Members
