Welcome to Solomontown Primary School, our vision is ‘A Proud Past, A Bright Future’.

Solomontown Primary School is located on Nukunu land.

I would like to acknowledge the Nukunu people for sharing this land with us where our students play, learn and grow.

Our school has been providing quality education for children in Solomontown since 1897. We are committed to providing all students with the academic and social skills that they need to be successful in learning and life – students learn these skills in a positive and supportive learning environment underpinned by our Values of Respect, Responsibility, Confidence and Persistence.

Our Site Improvement Plan focuses on Reading and lifting the reading levels for all students. We have a strong focus on the Read, Write, Inc program and Literacy and Numeracy are the site priorities.

Intervention programs in Literacy and Social Skills development are in place and specialist teaching is provided in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).

There is also a strong involvement in SAPSASA sport and a wide range of sporting clinics are available in the area.

Student leadership is encouraged through participation in the Student Action Team (SAT) and our House Captains structure. An active Governing Council ensures community participation in current and future planning. Our parent volunteers provide a breakfast club with our School Chaplain. We also have parent volunteers who run our canteen.

Our Wellbeing Team and Aboriginal Support Team supports our community through connecting them to various support agencies and numerous events such as RUOK day and Reconciliation, to name a few.
